She rides well. Took her out today. New steering bearings made a WORLD of difference and the fork seals (plus the fluid being at the right level and the air and all that) mad it much smoother.
Brakes are working better too.
And I fixed my little issue with the directionals (from when I removed the cluster).
Just fabed a bit more of a mount and cut two old dummy light displays to make this.

For what was supposed to be a short term fix.. I kind of like it. Think I might keep it like that.

I was right, the removal of that display was what completed the circuit to the tail lights. Once I wired those back in, they worked fine. Figured, wire those in to take the load so it didn't fry anything and it worked out fine.

Next step, rear brakes and then it's full customization. New smaller turn signals, new headlight, painting the fenders black and installing the cat's eye. Then I work on finding a good pair of apes and working that out. I have a pair but they're HD ones so... 1"... If anyone has a 7/8 set they would wanna trade, let me know.

So, been a bit since I have been able to do any mods. Though I have added a bunch more stickers since Laconia Bike week just passed. Of course, it's been raining almost non stop for over a week here so, some of them are starting to suffer from it.
Just been dealing with the charging issues I was having, then some more carb issues, then this then that etc etc etc... Now I'm really wanting to put some forward controls on this. The standard controls, with my long ass legs, get a bit uncomfortable after an hour or so. Sometimes the old hips lock up and I gotta pull over to stretch 'em out. Now, I have found some online for about $180 but, I can't even come close to affording that right now. So, I figured I would hit up the ol' forum here and see if any of ya have any ideas on ways to make some. Honestly I would like to fab my own anyway. Just makes it all the more "mine". Anyone ever try this? How was your success? Any suggestions on where to start or some template ideas?

Thanks Hoosier. Still more than I have though. I do have some old flat stock around though. I found this video for anyone interested in trying it themselves as well. I may go this rout.

In the video he starts with a set of H-D forward controls.
That was a lot of work already done for him.

He just makes adapter plates for the H-D forward controls.

Right, but it give me a platform to launch from. I'm in no rush and I kind of like the idea of making my own. Just keeps making my bike more and more custom from me :)
