Those coils should work with out being isolated from ground. We had someone on here awhile back with a similar problem. Turned out he was pinching a wire when he was tightening the bolts.

I ordered them from cb750 supply. They say they work great with the pamco electronic ignition witch I have Ben running on my bike for around 3500 miles and it works great. They are a 5. Ohm coil
