New shipping method needed

Lucky 1
 I shipped a CB750 gas tank .
It cost $63.00
UPS ground.

I will not be shipping anymore gas tanks.
The only way you can cut the cost is to ship it in the smallest box possible and
use that method where you pour expandable foam into a plastic bag.
Then sit the tank down into it, inside the box.
The weight is of almost NO consideration. Only the size of the package.

Of course I do not know where you get that foam system.

WOW I keep telling Shiny about UPS being, so expensive. I have shipped gas tanks through FedEx, for less then $30.00, and through the USPS, for less then $25.00. There is no way I would use UPS.

BTW I got the sprocket today. Thanks!!

I found the trick to using UPS is to NOT use their online shipping calculator to print off your label. It is heavily "padded "to ensure they wont undercharge you. The tank I sent pat went from VA to CA for $17. USPS. It was well packaged

Thanks for letting me know you received the sprocket.
I sent that USPS and with them it is ALL about the weight.

I only use UPS, however my workplace has a deal with UPS so I get a great discount and it is purely based on weight. I shipped a car transmission in a box (65 lbs) for $25 a guitar amp (50 lbs) for $17. I do enjoy the satisfaction of being confident my package will arrive to where I send it vs usps where I've had several packages "lost".

Anyway, another idea- I work for Fastenal and you can actually use our truck systems to ship stuff which is much cheaper than any other service. We have Fastenal's all over the country and our truck system is pretty efficient and about as fast if not faster than ups. Just an idea you could try!

Or just bring it to me and I'll ship it for you!

You know I heard on the radio the other day a company is looking for new "apps" computer applications.
Programs for computers.

It would be great for a person to design a computer program so that people taking auto trips across the country could go to a website and select a category say....Lamps, and carry a lamp to  another city for someone for a fee, or gasoline money that is less than a trucking company would charge.

Or take a bicycle for you etc.,.
It just needs a name now......lets think,  What about "Travel Buddy"

I think craigslist might have a category, for that, but a phone app, or web site would be neat. Very good idea.

It is called uship.com
Haven't you seen the show yet!

Also, I'm not 100% if all Fastenals will do it but they ought to. I would just stop in and see if it is a possibility. Talk to the manager though because the part timers may not be aware because most people don't use this ability.

For any business it is very important to hire the shipping services. If you just want to directly send the products to your customer or client then you can utilize their Warehousing services as well because most of the courier companies provide that. We also have hired Warehousing service Dallas for our online business.
