New to CB750

Hello all,

I am new to CB750's I have owned a fair share of honda's and other makes. Rode all last summer on a 84 Nighthawk 650. I had a xl250r enduro. To of my current projects are a cb360t hardtail bobber and a 71 CB750 that is kinda Strange. It has a RC Mallory dist on it. A 4 into 1 header. Chrome swing arm and hubs. I have taken of the ape hangers and the sissy bar. I would like to know haow to find out it is a sandcast or which k type it is. Not going to be restore to orginal but not chop up ethier I am going to to a mild custom with. Any input would be great. Thanx

Welcome to the forum. The sand cast were only made in 69. What is the serial number on the engine?

I can not see them the engine has been cover in a rino spray. All the covers have been chromed. With the mallory dist. set up is it possible that this bike has a 1000cc kit in it.

It would be hard to say if you have a 1000 kit. One way to tell is to look between the fins, look for weld marks. Many 1000 cc kits had to be welded to stop oil leaks so that is one way to tell. It could be possible that the bike just has some external parts on it though. Unless you can find some info on it from the previous owner, opening the motor is the only way to be sure.

The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Your vin makes it a 70-71 K-1. Not a sand cast, but still cool. Just because it has a Mallory dist does not mean it will have any other modifications. Like Re-run said, you would need to pull it apart. I like the looks of your bobber in the avatar. How about a bigger picture?

I will get some pics up of the little one. It is a 360t with a hardtail. It is a fun little ride. Haveing some welds touch up on it. still a work in progress. Thank you for all the help on some information. I will get some pics of the 750 up. I just got done doing some broomstick bars for it. I order some 10.5 to lower it. Cant see cutting this one up.

Been playing with tribal flames lately myself ready for my mail-box tank.

Winters here in the midwest ,needing some 40s at least,just to get out and work in it.

Thanks, My good friend did the tank for me. It is still a work in progress. I understand about the winter to I hoping I get a heater for my garage or the projects will just sit there until march.
