Oil Change

Tonup76
Okay so how basic is this, but this is my first bike and I don;t know.

73 CB750 Four / I am doing my first oil change, the shop where I go for service said to buy Penzoil 20w / 50.  Is that right?  The Bike has about 17k on it and I don't wanna F this up.

Also, any other tips that might not be in  my shop manual would help, thanks.

Your bike is older than mine so I dont know the specification. The manual should specify. On my bike (1979) 10w 40 is the recommended multipurpose oil. I went with royal purple  15w 40 synthetic and Im quite pleased.

20W50 is a little on the heavy side for a bike.Probably a good idea to stick to 10W40 or like Matthew said royal purple 15W40 is an excellent choice.I run pro honda 10W40 and have no complaints.
