Oil Leak

projectnwork
I recently picked up a 75 cb750f for $500. The bike runs great and is a blast to ride. The only problem is there is an oil leak near the chain. I was told by the seller that it is the lubricator for the chain and to fix it I need to just plug something up. Has anyone ever heard of this? All help is apprectiated.

I read somwhere just recently that this model Honda had a built in Chain Oiler. If thats not the problem, I would  remove the the front chain cover and check that the seals are all OK. If that is all clean and dry, wash the area down with a good degreaser and get everything thoroughly cleaned. Then take it for a run and keep looking in the vicinity of where the leak is coming from. Hopefully it wont be anything too serious. Just a thought - check the sump plug and the oil filter bolt. They have been known to leak from there as well.
