Oil warning light

Myumi-2
The oil warning light on my 1972 CB750 comes on sometimes, but only when it is on the side stand.  It turns off as soon as I stnad the bike upright.

I assuming that the sump pump is not picking up due to the steep angle that the bike is on.

Is this a common problem or an indicator of something serious going on???

Cheers
Tim

I know this is a dumb question but it has to be ask. Have you checked the oil level?

Like Polymer said, check oil but make sure you check it with bike on level ground and center stand.

Check oil level for sure but your oil pump pick up screen could be getting plugged up with gunk. You drain the oil and remove the oil pan to check, or pull the pump out to clean it. You could also try running some Seafoam in the oil for a couple hundred miles, drain it and put new oil in.    Paul
