On crack...

...they gotta be. I didn't put this in the For Sale section strictly because this has got to be one of the worse cases of overpriced CB parts I've ever seen:

This post was updated on .
There is a lady on my street that has a 1959-60 MGA sports car in her yard.
I is completely rusted badly and needs $15,000 worth of work.
A man I know said he was looking for a car to restore.

I asked her how much she would like for her car and she totally went off on me sayin,
you are net gettin my car etc.etc.

I wanted to just see what she would take for the car  because she was talking crazy
that it was worth $50,000 dollars.
So I said "Would you take $3000.00? She slammed the door."

It has been sittin there in the rain, outdoors for at least 7 years.

She was on something but I do not know what.

One more story.

I saw a VW bus in a farm field and it had been there a long time.
I went and asked about the VW bus.
The woman said it belongs to my brother in a town about 30 miles away.

I said ok and got the address.
I drove to the house where the brother was supposed to be and knocked on the door.
A very old man with white hair and a cane hobbled to the door. I asked him where
 the owner was. He said,"
It is my bus and I do not want to sell it because I am going to put a new engine in the bus."

I could hardly keep from laughing. He was not on CRACK either.
I went back to my car and drove back home just laughing all the way, and vowed that I would never be that out of touch with reality if I could help it.

+1 to Piute's post.

Bought my '84 shadow for $650, and paid the guy $50 to haul it to my house.

Speedo has been reset, and it's got new faces.  Other than that, nothing to write home about.

I gave up asking about sitting vehicles a long time ago. Seems every time I asked the owner would say they were going to restore the vehicle, and were going to start on it that weekend. Strange thing is, I know of several of these vehicles that I asked about that are still waiting 10 years later. Guess these people use different calenders then I do.

Yes...Those people will be very shocked when the doctor tells them they are going to die.

They will say....."But I had plans!"

You are right TOOLS1 , those sitting vehicles are a symptom of a disease.

Cash talks! When you see a vehicle sitting it never hurts to stop and ask. When you get the ''I'm gonna fix it up one day...'' story wave cash. It changes their plans Trust me. I wanted to buy a 71 C10 that I spotted one day and the guy gave me the same old "I'm gonna..." story.

"Alright then. I didn't know how much you might want for it,but all I brought was $500"

"..........you got another $50?"

"Yep!"

"I'll go get the title"

I drove the truck home 30 minutes later after airing the tires,de-acorning the air cleaner and a battery charge.Well,I got close to home at least. But the moral is: If you are into old stuff ALWAYS keep cash in the glovebox.
