That is a pretty cool bike, but you will never get it ti run right with pods. The best advice I could give you would be to switch to different carbs. There is a thread on here somewhere where a guy put 77-78 keyhole carbs on his DOHC, and got it run good. Another good choice would be to get a set of Kehin CR 30 carbs. Several places sell kits for this conversion.

My '80 has pods and runs just fine. I know it's more likely for CV's to act up with pods than not,but it has been done before.

They do make universal baffles, you just have to see if they make them in the size you need. I have seen threads online about people making their own, but I guess that would depend on your tech savy. Awsome looking bike, hope ypu get it running soon!

Well I might consider different mechanics.

Straight pipes will lean things a little but the issue is the pods. That is what is making it hard to jet, not the pipes.

I would either slap on the airbox,  swap carbs for older piston type, or read Shiny's thread if you just have to have pods.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
