Pics of my 81 750k ($150)

Here are some pics of my bargin bin 750k.  Sat since 1988. Now running.  The pics were taken with just a quick clean up (mostly dust). No chrome polishing or waxing yet.  Sorry if it looks like I'm bragging a bit , I still can't believe I only paid 150 bucks for this thing.

I`m envious, but no matter my bike will look the same when I have finished. I `ll have to  put some before and after photos on the forum so thta you can see it in its current state and what it will look like after wards.

Please do, I would love to see the pics.  I have a Suzuki 850 that is in various stages of refurbishment. Its nice to have a bike (750) that will only require routine maint.

the tail section of my 79 looks totally different. My tail behind the seat has a cowl.

My speedo also goes to 150.

My bike is similar to the one Rod Knockin has put on the forum. I laso have the cover around the tail light. Mine has the Comstar wheels. Can you tell me how to upload photos onto the forum as I have no idea who to do it ????????????

Sure.  Right above where you type your message is a button that says "Upload File".  Click on that.  It will open a new window with a box to type in the file location and name.  If you don't know this then click on the browse button.  This will allow you to look at your computer files and to find the file or Picture you wish to upload.  The picture has to be below a certain size which may require you to adjust the pixel size.  This has to be done in a picture editing program of some type. Thats about it.

Its mostly original. I crashed it once and put a dent in the tank. I repainted metal flake black. I wish that I still had the original brown. the bike was alot better shape 5 years ago when I lived in Daytona. After I moved from there I stored it in a damp basement. The moisture screwed up the finish on the aluminum engine parts. I was pretty pissed. The aluminum was perfect before that. I used to get lots of compliments during bike week / biketober fest. I have a complete set of spare body parts tank sides and tail cowl. Im thinking of going red

the pipes need to be rechromed. There not bad but I think I better preserve them. Ive been thinking jet hot chrome or jet hot gloss black.
Surprised no one noticed the spare fender sitting on top of the front fender.

What does the tail of a 78 look like? I wonder if they finished up using the 78 body with the 79 motor early in the model year.

VERY nice machines all of you! I'm feeling like I got ripped off but really wanted an old CB 750 to play with. I'll post pics when I can figure out how to shrink the files. Rod Knockin, would you be interrested in selling your extra fender? Mine has some pits and needs rechromed, otherwise, no dents on it.   Paul

Got ya, thanks. My neighbor has a real nice '78 750 automatic that he had some parts chromed here in Charlotte. I'll probably get mine done this winter while I'm riding my Wing.

Congrats on the steal you got on your bike,it's a beauty.I didn't do quite as well, but here is my 81 750C.I got it from a widows garage, the last tags on it were 1991.It had 9100 miles when I got it in 2005.I cleaned the carbs ,tank, changed plugs, battery, oil, and filters. It presently has 16000 miles on it and is going strong. I paid $500 for it.P8010248.JPG
