Planning on an engine rebuild....

Melderkin326
I purchased a 1980 CB750k 1 year ago and the bike has almost sat for half of its life. I currently go to college for automotive and was thinking about taking it into shop and rebuilding the engine. Mostly to replace seals, gaskets, go threw it and make sure everything is in order.
 My questions are:
1. Is there any online manuals for DOHC rebuilds, or is it better to go buy a Clarks manual?
2. Where is the best place to get a quality gasket kit?
3. Any special tools I may need?
Any hints, tips or tricks would be appreciated, it will be my first motor I'v ever gone threw!
Thanks everyone!!

You can download the factory service manual from the manuals section on the homepage here, for free. Several places carry gasket sets for your bike. Cycle-x, vintageCB750, and even e-bay has quite a selection. Vesrah brand is one of the best. For special tool, you will need a special socket, for the clutch hub, a puller, for the rotor, and a tool for the valve shims.
A word of caution though. If this is your first engine rebuild; make sure your Instructor is familiar with this type of engine. I have dealt with auto/motorcycle repair classes, and seen several projects like yours leave the classroom in box's never to run again. I would do a compression check on your engine to determine if it really needs rebuilt, or just new gaskets, and seals.
