Please help,cb750 f1 no spark!

Hi iv'e changed oil and had carbs ultra sonic cleaned,fresh fuel.,new battery,turns over and plugs are getting wet but no spark on all 4 cylinders! I have noticed that the 5pin switch is faulty at the bottom of the ignition barrel,all electrics and instrument lights work,could the ignition switch still be the prime suspect,any insight would be really great,cheers.

Do you have the kill switch on?

I was thinking the kill switch may be to blame as I have just installed push and pull cables,I feel like an idiot asking this but here goes anyway, should the engine crank over with the kill switch turned on or off!

The engine will crank with the switch off.

Not sure i'll need a tester of some sort,only basics in my toolbox,but was running fine,then stored for a couple of months!I'm wondering if iv'e done somthing whilst taking the tank off,all wiring looks good but is it possible that both coils could of failed at the same time?

A test light is all, you should need. It is doubtful that both coils would go out at the same time. I would bet that, you knocked a wire loose when, you removed the tank.

Thats what i'm  thinking,or iv'e upset the kill switch whilst doing the throttle cable! is that also a possibility?

Could be. I usually start at the coils, and work back from there when trying to diagnose an ignition problem.

Are you getting power to the points or the pickup?  Check the leads going to that device that goes to the coils. Not sure what you have.

It has one of those high power ignition units installed but it's a sealed unit,i'm not getting a reading anywhere around the coils!have run through all wires spade connections and fuses all look in good shape running from the coils i'll check points and have a new barrel on order,thatnks.
