Probably the dumbest question ever posted...

but I  had a thought earlier this week. Since these bikes are built in Japan are there "Japanese" side covers/points covers/stator covers available? I mean, when they were sold new in Japan were the emblems and covers stamped with English? I doubt it. I think it would be very cool to have a bike with all of the emblems in Japanese. Anyone ever ran across something like this before? Or am I just daydreaming?

Hey ribs...check Craig's List Tokyo...lol.
In 1972 I had to make a choice...quit riding...or quit drinking.  God says it's safe to get back in the saddle now...at least I'm still alive...and feel more alive with the wind in my face!  Now riding "Helen Black"...1982  CB750SC.

This has been brought up on another forum. As far as anyone knows, they were all in English lettering.

Well "Honda" is "Honda" in ant language. It would be cool though if, you could get it written in Japanese script though.

I spent most of my banking career working for a Japanese Bank
This is Kanji style. It's written vertically. It means 'original rice paddy'
Japanese calligraphy is formative using characters and letters, which originated in China then introduced into Japan. The Japanese languages incorporates "Kanji", Chinese ideograms, and "hiragana" and "katakana", both unique to Japan. So it can be written MANY ways!

Re: Probably the dumbest question ever posted...

It's actually not that hard, you just look at translations of their "letters" and match them up, my girlfriend is from japan and she said this is my name アダム translated into english it says A-Da-Mu... or Adam but this is written in katakana(if im not mistaken). As for Kanji you can do the same but the cool thing is for example the sound A or Da has multiple kanji characters and each mean different things so you can make your names meaning unique. When my girlfriend was messing around with my name i think we ended up with "dirty rice water" or something lol

In the end I've been trying to learn japanese from her for a while now and it's the most intimidating language i've come across when it comes to writing.

Good luck!
In 25 years I couldn't do it.
Speaking is relatively straight forward,  main word...negative or question...(sen or ka)
Then just to throw in a wrench there are 3 ways to say something. To a child, to an equal, or to an elder.

Writing in Katana is easier than Kanji, but still beyond my reach!
