Rear Axle Stuck! Please Help.

Tailspin
I recently purchased a 1980 CB750 Custom and have been tearing it down piece by piece to clean and rebuild it.  I have gotten down to needing to remove the rear wheel and soft tail. I have the nut off but the axle refuses to budge.  Any good advice?  The left side of the wheel hasn't even given up any slack so that the wheel may be removed.  This bike hasn't been ridden since 1999 and has been left in a shed until i got it.  Thanks in advance for the help.

I think there's a bolt that holds the right side of the axle in place.  This is not the nut on the end: this is a bolt that squeezes the right side.  Check http://www.oldbikebarn.com and look at the microfiche for the rear wheel.

I admit my info may be incorrect: I've been without my CB750 for well over a year now. Shoot...I can't remember what I had for breakfast last week.

Let me know if this helps.  If not, we'll dig into it a bit deeper.  Good luck.

It's probably froze in the bushings. Try PB Blaster, and a big hammer. Also some heat might help.

It took alot of Blaster, heat and a sledge hammer but it finally came out... by that point the Axle was dead but picked up a new one and have the rear wheel running freely.  thanks for the help!
