Rotor close to fork

Roswellkip
Well I just installed my front wheel on my 79 honda cb750. And the brake rotor is really close to the fork. Im just wondering if this is normal. If it is not what can i do to fix it or just leave it that way.
Here are a few pics to help.

I don't remember mine being that close.  Are you missing some spacers?

I can't really tell by the pictures, but is your tire/wheel centered? I once had a problem like this, but the tire/wheel was off center because I had installed the axle backwards.

P.S. I have to ask, is your name Kip?

Yeah the wheel is centered because at first I did put the axle on backwards lol. Though the caliper goes on fine. Could the wheel hub be to wide. well if it was to wide then the spacer, speedo drive and axle wouldn't fit. Would it be safe to ride it with it that close would it affect anything. You think I should flip every thing around to the right fork(riding view). Thoughts?

Are your rotors centered in your calipers?

Are all the parts original /proper fit for the bike?

Some trees have different fork spacing that can bring your tubes closer together.

If your rotor are centered in your calipers then that's all you can ask for.

First off guys thanks for the replies this means alot.

Ok looking back at my purchase history the only thing not in the 79 cb750k range is the wheel. It is an 82' cb750 front wheel. But everything else including the axle, spacers, speedo, caliper, tubes, and tree are all 79' I am not at home right know so I can't check the to see if the rotor is centered in the caliper. But just for reference how do tell if the rotor is exactly centered in the caliper. Are there any tell tell signs that it is not that I should look for. Also the rotor (when tire is spun) goes through caliper smoothly with no binding. (if that helps)

I'm still trying to view the pics on my phone, but in that first pic, the hub seems really small.

Anyone here now that can see it clearly? Maybe it's a different hub??

I can't make out anything in those pictures, they are so blurry.

I'm on a real computer now so I can actually see something larger than a matchbook.

I'm not super familiar with the spoke rims used on the DOHC bikes, but that front hub is absolutely tiny compared to a SOHC bike. I don't know if that is the source of your problem or not,but I really like that hub. haha

Those hubs are small, but you can not put duel discs on them.
