I am modifying my CB-750 Four. Bought a new headlight. Broke its glass. The glass reads "STANLEY 3952". Can anyone guide which bikes come with this headlight.

That is a pretty standard automotive light. Any autoparts store will have it.

Try "Advance Auto" at 87th, and Blue Ridge. That's usually my first stop.

Thankyou. Any idea of where I can get it in Newyork?

If it is a 7" headlight, any round, automotive headlight, will work. That is what I put in my old 750's Windjammer fairing, and it worked perfectly. I bought the least expensive quartz-halogen headlight I could find, and it never failed in the 4+ years I rode with it. You do not need to pay extra for a "motorcycle" headlight, automotive headlights are just as durable, and reliable.
You can purchase a replacement at Wal-Mart, or any automotive parts store, anywhere. Just be sure it is round, 7" diameter, and that it is for a two-headlight system, not a 4-headlight system (the 4-headlight system bulbs come in either Hi, or Low only, while the 2-headlight system bulbs are dual filament, with Hi/Low in one bulb). Cheers!

Just out of curiosity, what's the difference between a motorcycle headlight and an auto headlight? I always assumed it was the beam pattern. Anyone know for sure?

One is attached to a motorcycle, and the other to a car, truck...

LOL!... Classic zing, Tools! Classic... And true. I never noticed any difference after I put the auto headlight on my bike, but I rarely ride after dusk, so my opinion may be just so much air. Hey, at least it's free! Cheers!

YES ChromeGuy
There is a bigg different in all headlamps, car to bike A cars high beam is wide compared to a "QUALITY" bike lamp, witch will shot a narrow band of light up the middle of lane,But curb to curb like a car on Low Beam,
Adjusting a head lamp is the most safest thing you can do for night riding(witch I don't like)
When bike low beam is set right your high beam center brightness should be noticeable on the road (other wise it's set to high And most likely your lows beam is shining in on coming traffic.
Doing auto body setting headlights is an art for max Safety.
Myself I have the brightest(car) bulb I can get 7" for Vetter faring from Orally's coast 3x's as much 25/30 bucks I think (silver something)
but my life is worth it. I will get a cut glass len for my spring/summer faring ,
That going to cost up the I have a holgen for a stk look but different bucket, the lens is for Cycle and what a light.

At least Piute's got my back! I know on my silver bike the lens is marked ''Motorcycle'' so I figured there was some reason for it. The beam pattern was just a guess. But yes, that was a good zing! lol

It's still the same thing. They just charge extra to put the word "Motorcycle" on it. Just like the tires with "Harley Davidson" on them.

You can get one at wal-mart, O'Reily, Auto zone, Orchard supply... lots of places have em.

I am specifically looking for STANLEY 3952 headlight. Any light of this size will not work. Will I be able to get this light at WALMART
|
|
Does the Stanley have a special connector? Is it special in some other way? I guess I don't understand why you need an exact replacement headlight. You can always go to a store and use their look-up/cross reference book, but headlights are typically the same, as previously discussed. You can also ask the staff to check for alternate, compatible parts. Best of luck. Cheers!

The reason for exact replacement is that I have already modified manufactured parts to install the headlight housing (cover). Now only the glass of beam is missing. If I get the exact beam (the inside shiny part in which bulb in installed), or even the glass, I can installed it in the housing.
