Here is my situation: former owner took off rear turn signals but left the wiring and the flasher unit, which seems to work ok after testing it. Front turn signals were hack-sawed off but wiring is still there as far as I know. When I flip the turn signal switch, the lights on the console light up but don't flash; they just stay illuminated until I flip the turn switch off. Here's the question: If I put on a new set of rear signals, will they flash ok? I am not sure how the console light tie in to the mix as far as not blinking.....in other words, if they don't blink now, will they blink with the new signals or does it not matter....will the signals work anyway?
Thanks in advance for the input!

Without lights on there, the flasher(if standard mechanical unit) will not flash and so the indicator will not flash either.

Ahhhh......so that is how they are connected! So will the rear falshers work without having front ones?

They might but I am not sure. It depends on the electrical load but they still might not flash without front lights.

I was hoping to not hear that I don't have enough $ to spend on all signals now and was hoping to do just the bak ones. Once I buy these I can't return them.

Well, depending on where you bought them, partsnmore.com has signals for pretty cheap and they look and work good. I got some from there and I would again. About $12 each and that includes the lens.

Yeah, I saw them on the web but the only place that seemed to have the mount the rears was vintagecb750.com. They do not take back any electrical, regardless of reason.

A really cheap way to have turn signals is to use your left arm. Elbow bent hand down = Stop, Elbow straight hand out to left = Left turn, Elbow bent hand straight up = Right turn. Yea I know, I'm an a-hole , but it works better at letting other drivers know what you want to do then any signal light.

Actually, that is what I do now as it is! I think I may nix the idea of doing the signals right now since there are too many variables. Here's another thing you may be able to help me with though.......can you tell me how to change out my handlebar grips? I want to get some new ones....or do you know of any good instructions in either written or video youtube format?

I just cut them off with a utility knife. Then clean everything with rubbing alcohol. To install the grips I push them on by pushing on the ends. If you try to grasp them, they will never go on.

Oh, so a knife works through the hard plastic ok? Never would have thought of that! No screws or anything else, just pushed on......too easy!

74Before you push the new grips on spray the plastic on both sides whith any kind of hair spray, and this
will make the grips stick so they wil not slip. This is why you have to cut them off.

Hairspray? I never thought of that Good tip I wish some organized type person would start a list of tip, and things like this, for quick reference.

Ok, sounds easy on the left side. On the throttle side I notice a white piece of plastic that the grip is on near the inward side. How far does this go under the grip? I was just worried about cutting into that and messing something up. I assume that the white part actuates the throttle as I notice it moves with the twisting of the grip.

Yes that is what operates the throttle. It should be pretty hard plastic, and easy to cut, so don't worry too much about it. Wh3n you install the new grips, you will notice one has a larger inside diameter then the other. This one goes on the throttle side.
