Seat redo

Just wanted to know of anyone has redone there seat ? I have been cleaning up the bike and was looking at one of the extra seats I was giving and I realy like the stock seat one. But it's all ripped the hell . So I went  on eBay and seen seat covers . Has anyone done this ?? And how hard is it?  Or should I find someone who can redo it at a shop? What would the cost if I do have someone. Redo it ?     Thanks

I have never done a Cb seat,but I used to recover my dirt bike seats constantly. Briars and wrecking tears them up constantly. I was about 12 or 13 years old when I did my first one and it came out fine. It is not too bad,just need a good staple gun and some patience. laying the new cover in the sun first is good. It will helps get out the wrinkles that will be in where the manufacturer stuffs it in a box,and it will make it soft and pliable. Go for it! If you DIY it and you are not happy with your results the cover will not be ruined. Just pull the staples out and take it to a seat cover shop then. Good luck.

Even cheaper way is to find someone who can sew, buy some fabric, take off the old fabric and cut the pieces of new fabric to the shape of the pieces of the old fabric, sew it together and throw it on. Just re-did my dirtbike seat like that, came out awesome.
