Tell ya what I did ,Don't advise it to any-one but works great FOR ME,
Cut 2 rings off rear springs(my F2 has some long /bigg shocks)Threaded about another half inch on the dampening rod so it pulled down a bit .NOW my intension's are to buy shorter spring ,was cutting to be sure of the length I wont.haven't found the company I used in the past ,They have every color possible,..
BUT ......one of my dampeners is about junk very slow rebound,So looking at getting shorter ones all together new None of the on line shops recommend any lowering cause will mess with handling just C.Y.A. cover your azzz....ya -no
or use my cut springs on new shocks
I had slipped the tube in trees about a 1 1/2 (hey I could almost flat foot)after cutting springs was able to put tubes back were they should be and flat foot with boots on of course,If you ride with tennies don't listen to any of this.cause you may not understand.
you'll need to heat and grind the spring to set right, take a good look at whats there and you will know why to heat and grind.. may wont to try(cut) 1 ring at a time.riders have been doing this for a very long time ,have done this on all my older bikes.,Some just heat the spring, but thats guessing to get a match.
