Shinko verge 2 tires

So, recently bought some of these tires and finally got to ride this morning. Mornings have still been in the 30s here and that gets pretty cold at 75.

Anyways, so far they seem to handle quite well. The pirelli diablos I had didn't like cold temps, below 50 and corners may as well have been ice. they were never overly confidence inspiring either when warm.

So I got these and so far, at 45 degrees, they worked well.

I will update later after more miles.

Oh, they are a dual compound, too. Very nice to have in my area of straight roads.

They don't fit a cb750, but if someone has a different bike, this might be an option.

Im glad to hear another good report on Shinko's. I've got Raven's (009) on my '80 and love them. Touring compound as well. The rear would feel a little loose when cold, so I dropped the pressure a bit per a buddy's recommendation. Running 32psi out back it heats up pretty quick. Only been a few thousand miles, but so far it doesn't seem to be adversely affecting wear. Still looks like a brand new tire.

And I'm in the same boat as you. Lots of flat traveling at times. My Pirelli Rossi ll's were completely squared off after 1,800 miles.

Looking forward to your updates.

Well, been a while now so I thought I would do a small update.
Been raining a lot with shitty winds and such, so not much riding.
The riding I have done though, has been ok and the tires so far have done really well. They might not be michelin pilot power 4s but I can also by 2 or 3 tires for the price of 1 of those.

Cold pavement, 40 degrees F, has been good. I obviously don't push hard into corners, but you wouldn't on any tire. Braking is good and when warm, they have stuck good.

I will get caught in the rain sooner or later, so I will find out how they do then.

Only goofy thing is they have a louder than average hum when rolling. Not terrible or anything like that. It just sticks out a bit as being different.

So, finally got caught in the rain and I figured I would. Primarily superslab on my way home, so not much for hard corners. I must say, given the fat rear tire, I didn't notice anything bad. No hydro planing or anything. It wasnt a super hard rain, but enough that it was really hard to keep the visor clean enough to see anything.
Tootling along at 70 mph seemed to be ok, even with hitting puddles.

So, at this point, unless something suddenly rears its head, these tires are pretty nice and I wish I could get them for my cb. Only lingering thing is the noise they make, but they have been good tires so I can easily overlook that.
