Slid on left side

I have a 79 cb750, I hit an oil slick today in a turn and fell on my left side and busted off my left crank case cover and possibly damaged the "pulse generator". any ideas would be appreciated.

Ouch!  Sounds painful.  I hope you're OK.  Bikes are easier to repair than human limbs and stuff.

I'm confident you'll find side covers on this forum somewhere, or perhaps EBay or a motorcycle parts yard (junkyard to the rest).
