Spark plug question

eric moon
Hi, i have been reading about iridium plugs and the recommended type seems to incorporate a resistor. As i understand it the standard plug caps are resistive. Does this mean that the plug caps should be changed as well as the plugs?
I have D8EA plugs in my bike but I tried DR8EAs as i couldnt get the D8EA locally and it didnt start or run well so i switched back. I assumed that this was because the doubling up of resistance weakened the spark. The resistance is only there to prevent interference on tv and radio anyway, as far as i know.
Any ideas?

I installed the Iridium plugs, with the OEM wires on my Honda -- no problems at all.  My Voyager has both resistive caps, and Iridium plugs, no issues, both bikes have 5k+ miles on the Iridiums.  Cheers!

Are you running your stock points?  I have a Martek electronic ignition and the iridium plugs gave me a rough idle. I talked to another Guy who has my same setup and he has a rough idle, too.  Everyone with points loves them

I know people with the dyna S that have used them, like the iridiums. But I suppose it is hard to account for every ignition system out there.

Isn't it lovely when that happens.
