I've had my K2 completly stripped so I could spray the frame. I pulled everything apart and cleaned/repaired/repalced. The only thing that did not come apart was the cylinder head.
I've got it all back together and working, with one problem.
The starter solenoid did not work when I put it back in. There was no click, no volts running through. Kaput.
So, I purchased a used solenoid after finding out the price of a new one from Honda was north of $200). I pluged in the new-used solenoid and it did not work either. This second one clicks, when I press the started button, but no volts pass through the solenoid.
If I put the starter cable onto the battery terminal it starts easily. So it is not a starter issue. The click of the second solenoid tells me that it has nothing to do with the switch on the handlebar. All other electrics are working. Battery is charging, all lights work etc. I reversed the current through the solenoid, and I reversed the two small wires and there was no change.
Is there any other possible problem here other than two faulty solenoids?
