Stuck front brake.

tarmon
I bought a 1981 CB750 k about two weeks ago. For the most part the bike has been great and runs fine. Today when I went out to lunch and on my way back the front brakes felt very tight to pull, very little movement. They still worked but felt very odd, by the time I got back to work I went to back it into a spot and realized that my front brake was locked and was smoking a little :P. I gave up trying to roll it back and just drove it over to another spot. About 45 minutes later I walked over back out to look at it and it seems to be working fine. I backed it out and took it for a ride around the parking lot and noticed nothing.

Great so it appears to be working but not I am horrified of the front brakes ha.

Any input?

Yeah new to motorcycles and out of state working at an internship for the fall so I don't have a garage and/or many tools but I am some what mechanically capable ha. I was reading through some other posts and it seems like there are some common fixes but I didn't want to get ahead of my self. Just thought there might be some little things I should try first.

Welcome to the forum. Your master cylinder probably has trash in it. Try cleaning the little holes in the reservoir with a small wire/paper clip. If this does not cure it there are other things to do, but try that first.

Also it did appear that the brake fluid was a little low, could that cause any of these issues?

Break fluid low? Might have enabled it to suck up some trash.
