Tank replacement on a 1992 cb750 nighthawk

ernst
Hello all,

as a newbie to both this forum as well as the honda cb750 (and motorcycling in general!), I hope some of you could help me out.

I bought a 1992 cb750 nighthawk. Which works perfectly. I am now in the process of doing some repairs and modifications, and I would like to replace the tank with a more stylish, older one. I found a nice one from a 750 K (see picture). I was wondering whether this tank would simply drop on my 1992 nighthawk or whether it would take a lot of work to make it fit.

Thanks folks,

Ernst

Since they are both from the DOHC platform, I would assume that it should go on with little, or no modifications.

Man hard to say. The shapes are different and I assume your 750 is an early 80s, so you have possibly 10 year difference. If you could get an undershot of that tank, it would make guessing much easier.

Thanks for the replies!

Here's an undershot (hope it's clear enough, it's the only one i could get). The donor bike is a 1979 cb750 k. mine is a 1992 nighthawk.
