Right on with US Highway 41 ending there. Don't remember the bridge, unless it is in Houghton, the one with the steel grate? Didn't enjoy that part, especially the 15 MPH curve, uphill, shortly North, after the bridge...
I scoped out the Keweenaw Peninsula with satellite images, but I could not tell what the roads that went to the tip of the peninsula were like: paved, gravel, or dirt? Turns out the road that goes beyond US 41's turn-around, is all dirt, and it takes 45 minutes to reach its end, by car (AWD, or 4WD would be the best, IMO). We took the obligatory photo's of ourselves standing next to the sign showing the entire length of US 41, with the other end in Florida.
We tried to reach Copper Harbor back in '09, when we circled Lake Superior, but the winds on the road up the Keweenaw Peninsula, were too strong that day, so we turned around halfway. We took five days off, to make the trip, with time to enjoy it, but we only needed four days; spent yesterday working on the Honda, prepping it for a buyer to look at tonight. Cheers!
