Hi.
On vacation now, not close to my bike, but I do have clip on bars mounted on forks under triple clamp.
My bars are low, and I do have a CB750F DOHC. Yours isa. K, so it should be very similar. The gas tanks are a little different, but the other than that it is same motor and related parts from the carbs onto handlebars.
I remember once asked a guy to help me with a valve adjustment, I did not have my tools back then, and I asked him to change my cables at same time, he would not charge me fpr it, I paid for the cables, I diday for the valve adjustment.
When I got the bike back, the canles bound up, upon tirning the handlebars, cables seem to bind and crowd the area where it wass uppose to slide, right into and under gas tank, nextt o steering stem.
I checked a Honda CB factory manual I have and there i saw cables have a way of running from each side (throttle and clutch) of handlebars onto side of tank at steering stem and beyond under tank onto carbs and clutch arm.
Throttle cables have to leave carb hook up points and run toward handlebar on opposite side of throttle grip. So throttle grip is pn "R" side, cables should run on "L" side of tank 's underside (left and right as seen from a seating position on bike)
Cables exit over tank mounting rubber (round side rubber where tank affixes itself) and on left side of tank and steering stem. Then run from that opposite side overt o right side of handlebar, over headlamp.
Clutch cable does opposite, from right side of under tank and frame, exit at right side of steering stem, and crosses over to left side (clutch lever) over headlamp.
Running throttle cables on right side(same side as throttle grip) and clutch cable on left side of tank and steering stem( same side as lever) will make cables crowd and bind area and performance of cables will suffer.
Check your cable routing.
I have regular - Stock lenght cables and routed properly it is ok. All the extra cable just loops at headlamp area.
Also, I think there is a difference between US cables and Non US - Euro cables. None US might be shorter, because many US bikes came with weird tall handlebars.
Both Euro- non US and US are available.
Happy New Year !
