Tire size Question

bellison80
Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum. I have a 79cb750f super sport. My question is this. Stock sizes for the rear tire are 110/90 r18. I am wondering if anyone has put on a 120/90 r18, I am getting ready to order tires and do not want to go a size up if I wont have clearance. This is a new bike to me as of last fall. I had a 78kz 650 prior which I did a lot of work to and had it looking and running real good. The guys on the kawasaki forum were great and I am hoping for that here as well.

Thanks for your time,

Brian

Welcome to the forum. I do not know the metric sizes very well, but I know a 5 inch tire will fit. I doubt that a 120 would be as big as a 5 inch tire.

Thanks, I believe a 120 is around 4.50 to 4.75 inches.

I got a 120 on the back of mine,it is the max that a SOHC will hold.I'm talking less than 1/4" clearance. The DOHC swing arm are wider I hear, though.

A 120 should be just fine. I know the earlier sohc 750 were able to use a 120. the 77/78 K makes good use of a 130 tire but then it rides on spokes and not comstars, so the rims are different.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
