Valve clearance shims - Honda/Toyota

Rodgil
When I needed shims for my 1982 CB750FZ I tried my local Auto Engine Rebuilding shop to see if 25mm diameter shims were common. They had hundreds, as they were used in the Toyota Camry 2 litre engine from about 1989-1993. They also had a machine to micro-grind shims to give me some "odd" sizes, as I believe the in-between sizes were only used in the factory, and not available as a spare part.
I hope this information is of some help.

1982 CB750F
1978 Triumph Tiger 750
197? Yamaha DT175
197? Hodaka ACE 100

Candy-vintage
its the Yamaha SRX250, XT & TT 350 -4 valve, FJ1100/1200, XJ600/900, XJR1200 & XVZ1300 -
Honda CB750/900/1100-4valve & CBX1000-six and the late Triumph 3 and 4 Zylinders using the same shims: all of them expensive to buy at your local dealer!
Same shims you can find for small money in the Ford Zetec S-engine 1,25 & 1,6 litre (part.nr. starting 1004306 for the 2,00 shim and going up to 1004348 fot the 2,625 shim....sorry, haven`t got all the numbers yet).
High-end would be the Toyota-Yaris-buckets as one-piece design: no shims, but different thick buckets - pure racing-technology: 14 grams difference and a must for (classic-)racing...although a pricy solution!
