Well, shocks are the most common way to lower. You could do short struts but that turns it into a hardtail.
These are bolt on changes and take minutes to do and are the easiest.
You could get more in-depth depending on what you are going for. There was a thing called "konging" that was done to the sohc that you might be able to modify to fit your bikie. It involves cutting and welding and such, but it allows you to keep your normal frame geometry while lowering the seat. This is kind of a crappy description but you get the idea.
