I wanna get a pair of bags to use on my bike. I need some cargo room. Does anybody know What throw-over saddle bags would go good with my bike?

I picked up a pair of Cortech 2.0 bags for my '80F. They are very, very nicely made, but they aren't cheap. $150+ depending on where you find them.  The mounting is super flexible and they can come on and off in seconds, literally.

These are really junky cell phone pics, but these bags fit these bikes well, IMO. I usually use them in this position and they obviously won't scratch the seat cover. A passenger can still ride and get their feet comfortably around them in this position. When I took the bike on a trip a while back I slid them a little further back and the rear strap was riding on the tail piece. I was dumb and believed that the anit-slip rubber under the mounting strap wouldn't hurt the paint. It will. And it did. Next time Ill slide a microfiber towel under there first.

They are expandable and will zip out to become about 2' wider. Doesn't sound like much, but 2'' can be alot sometimes. They won't hold a full face helmet, but I've put gallon jugs of milk in them several times, to give you an idea of the size. They seen triple digit speeds unloaded more than once and were rock solid with the anchor straps they come with.

They come with rain covers which are fine for parking the bike overnight, but I'm pretty sure they were not designed to be ridden with. They only attach with a pull string to cinch them down. The bags are sold as ''water resistant'',not water proof, but I rode for about 1.5 hours in a very hard rain once and nothing in the bags got even remotely wet.

I have zero complaints with these bags except I think they are over priced. They have an optional tail bag that will supposedly snap directly on to these( tail bag hooks are already built in to these bags) but I haven't looked in to that yet. Not sure how they designed the tail bag to fasten in to the built in snaps since the mounting width would be different for every bike.

Oh,almost forgot. In those pics the bags were on there with the rear turn signals still installed. To slide the bags further back I had to dump the signals for clearance. So I did this...

It's a weird little piece, but it works well so far. It likes a FULL 12 volts so it really needs to be grounded well. Sometimes when the bike is idling, warming up, the tail light will flicker in odd ways, but I've asked guys to watch it while we're out riding and they say it does fine.

They look good on the bike. Thanks for the info... Are there saddle bag supports that can
 go on the bike?

I don't know of any specific supports for these bags, but there may be. I know mine do just fine without them, due to how they lay on the chassis of that particular bike. When I went on my camping trip I had one of these bags completely full of canned goods and bottled water. Did fine.

Here is something similar to what I used for my soft bags:  link.  They are universal, and all you need are two attach points, on the side.  I had a '79 K, and I used the shock's upper bolt, and another at the back side, to attach the brackets.

There are a lot of bags out there, but if you want traditional, go with the fake leather types, as they won't mildew, or be damaged by rain, as leather will.  There are a number of sellers, such as Willie & Max, and Leatherup.com.  I bought a set from Willie & Max, but they were spendy.  The Leatherup models were comparable, at a much lower cost.

I toured, two-up, on my Honda.  We found that the plastic saddlebags tended to hang down too close to the pipes with the standard zip-off, OEM mounting system.  We used some web strap material (gym bag straps), from a fabric store, to make custom straps for over the seat, in an X-pattern.  To keep the bags from flapping in the wind, we bought some caribiners, to attach the lower loops on the bags, to the support brackets.  This kept the bags loose enough to move around for the passenger, but secure enough not to flip around when riding.  They were easy to remove, for carrying into our motel at night, without using removable liners.  Cheers!

Hello, I'm just new here. Any way I would suggest to use what shinyribs has w/c is a Cortech 2.0 bag. Or get a Givi hard case, but requires a mounting bracket.

Just to add, I bought a First Gear saddle bag from 4wheelonline.com. Costed me $117 with free shipping. The exact model was First Gear Onyx saddle bag. You will just need to strap it down to your underseat or rear pegs.bag
