Found this one on CL and was wondering what you think of it.  I was really hoping to spending less than 1k, but it's looking to be difficult to fnid a runner at that price.

The appears to be a lot of room to haggle on that price. The seller indicates he is willing to trade for all kinds of junk so I think he'll come down from $1400. 10 crisp $100 bills is a big motivator. Go look at it. Make him an offer if you like it. I'd start at $500 and work your way up to the $1000 if you're really willing to pay that much after looking at it.

It looks like it needs side covers and turn signals in addition the the ignition switch and tires that he mentioned.

None of that is a show stopper if you want to restore or customize it. Side covers can be pricey though.

  HELLO  Great your looking for a 750, Personally I start at the cc 750 =750.00$ that is my max on A running 750(350cc = 350.00) But thats me and plan to do my own work and had been looking for a 750 fer just over 4 months,So February thru July ?.Missed about 1 bike every 2 weeks in my $ range(as stated).You have to have cash in hand or you will loose it on your way to the bank these bikes are highly sot after everywhere.
  I bought 2 1977 KZ 750s 1st at 750.00$ 2nd at 400.00$.Second 1 ran better but didn't look better,(to me )Others liked the 1st ,both were stock color with no modifications.
  Great deals are out there for a lot less , Go check it out and talk to the person that road it last.Listen for excuses,"Y" selling ? lots of questions let them know your interested,Take a friend that don't like Honda's

 I paid 250. fer mine double that to get were it is now Running (no mods)

thanks for all the advice.  
I've been scouring CL for a while (and ebay) but it's been tough to find a "good" deal.  I'll probably show up to the guy's place with $1k in cash and see how low he'll go.  

Thanks for pointing out some of the additional things it's missing.  I would've over looked the side panels.

That is a $600-750 dollar bike.

Prices are all over on used bikes.  It really depends on your area.  His asking price seems high, to me, but for my area, it is high, your area may be different.  In the end, it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.  When I sold my 1983 Kawasaki 440 LTD Belt Drive bike (QuickSilver Fairing, Trunk, 13,000 miles, with new tires), this past Summer, I got $1,000 for it -- and it truly was a turn-key bike, needing nothing.  In my area, CB750's range from $800-$1,800.  What's it worth to you?  That is the only way to tell its true value.  Cheers!
