The flip-down shades are an interesting concept. However, I steered clear of that model mainly because the mechanism interfered with where I wanted to mount my camera. Also, in case anyone cares, the models with the retractable shades are not snell approved, so you couldn't use them on track days (if you're interested in that sort of thing)

Halfcaf, how does that reflective visor do at night?
I really like the visor! In the sumer I constantly wear sunglasses, so switching to a clear lens when I ride is brutal (I've never been able to wear shades inside my helmet)
Another thing I like about it is the fact that its not
too dark. I work evenings, so it's always nice and sunny when I come in and then dark on the way home. I don't even notice the fact that my visor isn't clear.
I also have a tinted visor with my old HJC and I never ended up using it because I thought it was too dark at night and it was just too much of a pain to always be swapping back and forth. Now I have a clear visor for the Scorpion and I never throw it on... I realize I'm writing a paragraph, but for someone like Shiny who lives out in the mountains I imagine it can get really dark -maybe then you would want a clear visor. For someone who rides in the city, pitch black is almost a foreign concept.
