Run
SeaFoam through the gas tank, first: at $9 per 16 oz. can, it is less money than any other potential solution. Follow directions, between 1-1.5 oz. per gallon of gasoline. It will dissolve minor varnish deposits, absorb water, etc., ensuring a clean, efficient, fuel system.
I averaged 43 MPG highway, riding two-up, 95% of the time, with a full fairing, on my '79 CB750K. Anything below 34 MPG, is suspect. Start with the simple, least expensive troubleshooting techniques, and work your way up to the most expensive, most complex solutions. Cheers!
