In the attached image, one post of the round relay is missing a wire. There are two wires which are dangling, one red and one green. Since I am not sure of the wiring on this bike, which one belongs there ? TIA
I have a 78k and the green wire attaches to nothing at all. So my guess would be the same for yours. Connect the red. Worst that would happen is a blown fuse But I am pretty sure the red is correct.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
If you pull the relay apart you will find it realtivly easy to follow the path through and see the flow. The earth in mine does not connect to anything in the relay.
Alterantively, you can take the trial and error approach. As long as you have the correct fuse in place, and plenty of spares, then the worse that can happen from incorrect wiring of this relay is to blow the fuse. If this occurs, change the connectors and the fuse and retry.
When rewiring my bike I got a trip switch to replace the fuse. It works the same as a trip switch in a house. If it overloads it trips, disconnecting the power, when the power to the trip is removed, it switches back on. It was not that cheap ($15 AUD) compared to buying a hole lot of fuses, but it did save a little bit of time.
