Would this seat fit my bike?

ETFerguson
I found this on the bay this morning. I've been thinking of doing a custom seat but this may be a cheap alternative. Worried because this seat has the same dimensions of another listing that lists universal fits for smaller bikes as well. My bike is an 82' CB750k

Heh, well it will fit, about as good as any seat not made for the bike.

Fitting this seat will entail you measuring the mounting hinges and the lock. Then you will need to pull off the cover and foam and drill the locations for said points. Then they will need to be bolted on. Make sure you use good washers, they will be critical for keeping the hinges attached to the pan. Measure twice, drill once.

However, if your current pan is shot, I don't see this as being any worse than having to make your own. Contact the company and ask them about your bike and if they have exact mounting steps.

We may all be surprised and it may fit with little modification.

I've got one of those. It's a little short at 20". You'll have to cut the fender brace at the back of the frame. Also, I believe on your frame there's a "dip" like this _____/------ from the back of the tank to the rear fender/shock mounts. You'd have to cutoff that rear portion or build up the front to make a level surface to mount the seat on.

I've got a 79K. I'll try and get a picture of the seat sitting on the frame so you'll see what I'm talking about.

Here's the picture (pardon the dust).

Damn that is small. I didn't look at the dimensions.

A seat that short really calls for removing the whole rear fender.

Damn I didn't think it would look that small on the bike. Is your frame somewhat comparable to mine? I was actually planning on removing my entire rear fender more than likely. Then again, with a seat that short it looks like it would look weird and have the wheel sticking ridiculously far out back from the seat. Ahhhhh I don't want to pay $300 plus shipping for a seat (I've found some that seem like they're better suited size wise).
