aligning back axle

lcochran
so i adjusted my chain tension the other day and now i have an unaligned back axle.  Any tips on the best way to get it back inline.  Its hardly out but enough to notice it at slows speeds.  ive gone by the marks on the axle plates as well as tried measuring with a tape measure....
help me.

also, anyone have any idea why new front brake pads constantly squeak at low speeds.... it really pisses me off and makes my classic honda sound like broke honda

Just sight down the chain. You might need to remove the chain guard though.

Not trying to override Tools whatsoever, but I measure my back axle of my front axle. As long as those two are tracking together I'm happy. On the brakes I had the same issue. CRC disc brake quiet helps. Just follow the instructions on the can. Also, and the biggest help on mine, adjust the dead pad (inner pad) to where it is almost tounhing the rotor, but not quite.Probably .015-.020''. That cured mine. The occasional cold squeak is still there when I first take off,but the constant off-the-break squeak is gone completely. If yours squeaks, but stops if you lightly pull the lever this should fix it.

Oh,the silicone brake grease trick did ZERO good and only makes a mess. And will attract/hold road grime all around your piston seal. Not good.
