brand new!

Rinzler
Hello! My name is Kirill, and I'm completely new to motorcycles altogether. I'm a full time college student and worker, and I figured I would get myself a little toy that I can call my own. I purchased a '76 honda cb750 f. Man sold the motorcycle to me for $800, came with an extra engine, half built, and an extra gas tank. So far I have rebuilt the carbs, sand blasted and powder coated the frame, and now to work on the engine. Engine has great compression, in need of new coils. After the coils come in, where should I go from there?  Sorry if the intro was a bit lengthy :P nice to meet you all

Welcome to the forum. After the coils come, I would try starting it. How about some pictures?

I'll post some pictures of the parts, I have the motorcycle disassembled. I plan to fully refurbish it, but with some new electronics. My starter/throttle housing is missing the guts of it. Kick start should be alright? The previous owner never had time to get it running so this bike has been out of commission for some time. I'll post some neat pics soon. It'll be a week before coils come in, im excited :D

Well get the manual if you do not have it.
Were the coils chopped up or something? Not that I would say to keep them. You can get new coils at partsnmore.com. Are you still using the points plate? If so, stick with the sohc coils. If you were going to use the pamco ignition, which should be listed in the online parts thread, or the dyna S, the cb900 coils are a good choice with some copper wires and ngk plug caps. If you decide to use iridium plugs, they have resistance built in and so non-resistive caps should be used.

Now when you say the guts are missing, do you mean for the housing on the handlebar? If so, you might be better off finding a new one on vintagecb750.com(i think) or ebay, or getting a univeral unit for 7/8th inch bars.
The right control mainly is starter but also your kill switch.
