carb backfire . possible causes ?

This post was updated on .
#3 is backfiring thru the Carb. Actual flame sometimes. Only one doing it. Usually flames on development (in neutral)  but sneezes back at idle too. Burnt valve?  Don't think its timing since only #3 does it. What else could it be?

EDIT: "Usually flames on development" was supposed to be "Usually flames on decel"  autocorrect

Will do.

Already set the valves, but I'll double check them tomorrow (later today?) I set them at 0.002" intake and 0.003'' exhaust.

FSM called for something a lil different, but I figured that ^^^ is what it meant

I dont have an end for my compression tester that fits these plugs. Gonna go borrow one tomorrow. I'll do a leakdown ,too. Should've already done that.

Its good now. This motor has not been run for 12 years. I think it was either sticky valves or maybe some rust on the valves and seats. Went ahead and rode it some and its all good now. Good old Honda.
