Just a guess, but I'd say it is likely a 175-250cc engine.  Hard to tell much more.  It's in pretty rough condition.  The VIN tag should say the model, as well as the year.  Cheers!

What do ya mean rough? as long as its all there you can take it down to the the last nut and rebuild it. anyway looks like a 125 or maybe a 250. The vin number should tell you.

Google: how to read a vin number on a honda motorcycle and you will find instructions to decipher a vin number

The engine looks identical to the engine on my wife's 2004 Rebel. which is a 250. have fun

yeah i figured it out..its an 82 cm 250..pretty cool..its mostly complete..just missing the coils, front brake and clutch cables..i got the carb off and soaking in the dip..ill take it out in a few days and take it apart then put all the pieces back in for a few days..also,doesnt seem like the engine was seized..just maybe had dirt in it..the bikes been sitting in the desert for who knows how long..i squrted some pb blast in the plug holes and waited a few min..put it in gear and pushed it foward 1 time and it was free..

anyone know where i can download a manual?..i looked around but couldnt find anything.

That is what Honda made between the Twinstar, and the Rebel. Should not be hard to find a manual though. If you can't a Rebel manual should be very close to that bike. It does have the Rebel engine.

It should. It's the same engine.

Some people call it street tracker,motard....Suzuki made a more-street version of their dual sport dr and called it a DRZ400 Supermoto. A bunch of other bike companies did too. Basically a dirt bike set up on crotch rocket tires.

Heres a cool CM250 headed in that direction. Looks pretty cool stretched out. get your welder out...

It will probably fall off. Just make sure it is 12 volt 3 ohm, or it will not work right with points. That bike does have points, doesn't it?

5 ohm will work. It just needs at least 3.
