engine breather

katman
Hi everyone,
I greatly appreciate the help I have gotten on this forum from everyone while going thru my 77 750K
as thing arise. What's up next is I had the battery box out for a repaint and new rubber when I noticed the engine breather unerneath it. The bottom half is gone. I haven't been able to locate one yet new or used. Any good subs I can try. One line from air box and the other from the engine. Did get my wiring under the seat correct and my stiff throttle smooth by trying things I read here.

Engine breather? Maybe I use a different term. Do you have a pic or maybe a better description?

I can ge a pic of what's left. It bolts to the bottom of the battery tray. It supposelly comes apart
for cleaning. two vent lines come off of it. One goes to the top of the air cleaner and the other
goes to the engine up over carbs. It's called a chamber breather in the handbook.

Can you post what page it is shown on, within the FSM, available on this site?  I don't think we are clear on what it is, as most of us do not have one on our bikes, that I know of.  Thanks.  Cheers!

What the breather box does is collect small droplets of oily fumes and return them to the crankcase by separating the oil from the fumes.

You can use anyone you want. If there is a lot of oil coming from that breather hose it is time to do a compression check or a valve guide seal replacement. Depends on the milage.

I like the small breather/separator from a Honda RC51. Very small and compact.

You can use any kind of hose or tubing you want as long as it will take some heat.
Fuel line ,radiator hose clear vinyl tubing etc.,. Just keep the hose away from hot exhaust.
