exhaust studs

just wondering if bolts wouldnt work just as well as studs for holding the exhaust pipes on. no studs would sure make getting the motor in & out of the frame easier on my 78K. maybe stainless bolts ?

Bolts will work just fine. The early models used phillips head screws in them.

Unless you are going to switch to the earlier spigot exhaust where the spigot bolts to the head, you are going to want to stay with the studs. You would never be able to line up bolts with the collars to get them started into the head. I have seen bikes where someone had tried to use bolts, and the heads are always messed up from it.
