exhaust

nate_
Hello all, I have a 1980 cb750c. My question is which exhaust system is quieter, Mac 4 into 1 or 4 into 2?
Or Kerker? Not much for screamers. Thanks much, also, I will be replacing piston rings here pretty soon. Does any of the super mechanics here have any advice or tricks for this engine. I wasn't born with a wrench.

A 4-2 is probably going to be quieter in the higher rpms where most of the noise happens but a kerker allows you to change the baffles and repack them so you can change the noise level that way too. However, more baffling = more back pressure and thus power reduction. To some degree.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Good deal, I guess anything is better then what I have now. A pair of short length mega-phones from the fella before me. Thanks for the quick response, this is by far the most informative forum yet. Good work

It's a good forum here.  Re-Run is an excellent resource.  I'm glad he's here.
