front brake adjustment

dave Esch
I replaced the front pads and rebuilt the caliper. It feels like the brake is dragging, yet the handle feels spongy and I really have to squeeze to get a noticeable brake. I've bled and bled, looked everything oner and the only thing I have found is that the inside pad is making constant contact with the rotor. Even with the adjustment screw all the way out.

The pads will always have a slight contact to the rotor, that is normal.
I don't know how you are doing your bleeding but you could get a couple speed bleeders and go to town without having to constantly close the screw.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

I tried the speed bleeder route as well. I took the brakes back apart after about a hundred miles of riding. The pad opposite the piston is wearing unevenly, only making about 40% contact. I think once the pad wears down a bit and makes full contact it'll be ok. As far as the adjustment goes, it might just be a pad thickness issue and also go away with time.
