Hi All,
I'm new to the site and contemplating a cafe racer project to a CB750. I've done some basic web research over the last several weeks and came across a "look" that really appeals to me. Can someone shed some light on how this bike gets its beefy stance? I do know that it is a 74 K4 model. I've not come across another one that looks quite like this.
Is it simply the larger wheel and modified fenders?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Peter

No, it is more than tires. The front forks have been replaced with shorter tubes. The back shocks are much shorter too.
He is using either clip0ons or clubmans for handlebars.
Smaller tach and speedo.
And a seat cut way down to almost nothing.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Everything Re-run said, but the forks were just raised up in the triple tree. You can see about 3-4 inches sticking up. Also it has an over sized headlight.

Look original just painted or powder coated black. I think my headlight is that size though, 7 inch.

Well even if you do not change it, you have a really good restore base.

Hello everybody! Im a newbie here as well just found this forum today and am clicking around soaking up info like a junkie!! A HUGE THANK YOU to all the guys kind enough to come on here and spend your time helping out a new guy like me. As far as the cafe look I DIG IT!!! My Dad used to ride CB 750s after turning from Triumphs i think a CB750 cafe is an awesome for me to (kinda) have what he used to have from both bikes in one machine! I know his stock Triumphs were not cafes but...you know. I found a site with some killer cafe bikes all based(for the most part) on CB 750 it is www.cb750cafe.com. Check it out!!

I was originally thinking about doing this but was not sure if it was 'proper' with clip-ons. The bike is wide for me and and wanted to lower it about 1" so I can flat foot but did not like the look of the 1" of fork sticking up. This is a good way to disguise it. If you're still on, how is this working out? Any problems with the clip-ons in this location?

You missed that this was bumped from a year ago.
It even has what appears to be one of your first posts.

Geeze, I didn't even see that.
Amazing, that the polished torso man has posted over 4000 messages in just one year. He has absorbed a great deal of knowledge and experience with these bikes, and is helping others. This is how it should be. Lack the knowledge, get the knowledge, share the knowledge.
I'm glad you're here, shinyribs.
