That I do not know. However it would be a lot easier to just swap in the whole CB 900 engine. The "F" and "K" engines should be a bolt in swap. However the CB 900 C engine has a duel range gearbox attached to the transmission, and shaft drive, so it would not be a bolt in swap.

You have a 1977 "F-2" The engine should be painted black from the factory. That engine has different pistons, cam, and head from the "K" and "F"-"F-1" engines. The valves, and guides are known to wear really bad in them, so be sure to check them out.

Yours would be a Diecast K-0. The K-o years were 69-70. However with your very high ser# I would say it is a 1970.

Welcome. I only know the codes for the SOHC bikes. However I know some of the other members here have the codes for the DOHC bikes. I wish someone would post them (hint, hint.)

Can someone help me identify this bike?
Being told it's a 1978.
|
Administrator
|
It's definitely not a 1978. The 78 was the last year for the SOHC and that is a DOHC. It looks like a 79-83 K model. It should say on a tag on the steering neck what year and model it is.

THANKS!
Tag on steering neck 1979 MODEL.
Here are the Frame RC01-2024669 and Engine RC01E-2121351 numbers.
Are they matching?

Close enough to be matching since the numbers never matched.

HI there,
I have a 1979 frame from a CB 900, but two cb 750 engines . One has an engine number RC01E-2305654, the other starts with RC04E-2216287
Could someone tell me the build year s(and Model??, or is the model just the frame??)
Thanks

I do not have the info on the DOHC serial numbers, but the only difference in any of the engines was what Honda stamped on them. They were all the same internally and externally. Also the frames were the same, the only differences were placement of brackets for mounting of body work.
