how to remove paint cheaply

most out rageous looking gas tank.   I am looking for a good easy way to remove all three previous paint layer and do my very own first.

tried loading picture but is way to big and looks fuzzy

Just go to your local autoparts store, and get a quart of "Aircraft Stripper". Paint a coat on the tank. and slip a trash bag over it for about 30 minutes. Paint should be falling off.

Tools is right, aircraft stripper is basically acid in a spray can. I would recommend gloves and glasses while doing this.  Last time I used it I had to put in a little elbow grease with a bit of steal wool, but no power tools needed
