i need an answer please

Ok I got a customer with a 82 cb750f supersport. We rebuilt the crabs changed the plugs, wires etc and did a check up. Bike wad not running when he brought it to me. Now it runs like a champ until it hits 60mph then that's it it will not go any faster. Compression checks out good timing checks good crabs are synced and set properly in their boots. New air filter all stock setup. Gears check out good and it runs great till you hot 60 or so. I can not find and reason why this thing won't run any faster. And believe me I've have looked. Customer is happy buy I'm not not till its right. I am hoping one of you guys that own and ride one of these will have a clue cause I just don't know were else to look. Please help. And forgive my missspelling I've had one of those days. Thanks for whatever help you may have.

Is the ignition advancing correctly? The other thing that might do this would be a lean condition on the top end. Have, you tried putting on the choke when this happens?

Will choking it help to richen it without cutting off needed air?I might try that on mine to diagnose my supposed lean condition.Thx Tools

The timing and advance are correct according to manual and my experience. I will try the choke. Someone said it might be the throttle cable mis adjusted was gonna check that once again in the morn I will also try the choke test thanks tools any other ideas would be a help.

Maybe fuel line, filter, petcock, clogged a little?

Why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to god one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.

Samir, you just jogged my mind a little there

Check the vent in the fuel cap. Also it just dawned on me that it is an 82 DOHC model. These have the vacuum operated petcocks. Are, you losing vacuum at the higher RPM's?
