Thanks. This is my 1st CB750. I've had a KZ900, a 71 CB450, 80's CB450, '81 yam 400, and a Kawasaki Concourse.
This bike has been started in a direction I want to go. 20,000 miles, fresh painted tank, overall clean (but dusty)
It helps I have several friends with all the specialty tools to borrow and brains to pick.

It also came with a Rebel front fender. I haven't taken a close look yet, but the seller seemed to think it would bolt on. It's a nice chopped look. As I said before all original parts are included,. rear fender just un-bolted from front section. I noticed one oil leak (bikes been sitting for a couple years). Left side....seems to be a cover gasket, or shift rod seal....I suppose it could be from the oil tank lines as well.

I can't wait to dig into it, as it's 60 and sunny here in Minneapolis.

This bike was just dropped off in my garage last night. Probably one of the cleanest engines I ever did see. The vin # is cb750-1111169, so I am thinking it was a late production 1971, but titled in '72...?? Have the day off today, so I guess I'll start poking around and putting together an initial parts list.
My plan is to photo document as much of the work as I can.

Always good to take notes and pictures, especially with camera phones making it that easy.
Nice looking machine. The _search_ bar at the front page is your friend.  Do lots of reading: there's a TON of info here.

Smart move on the handlebars, and now that means you wont need rear sets!

I'll post a link to my photos when I get home. Took a few days to put the shop together as I haven't built anything for a few years. Just mounted the bench grinder yesterday. Made a run to Hondatown (local mn Honda dealer) , they still carry a ton of stuff for old bikes (nos), picked up some seals and gaskets.
So far the front end is torn apart for fork seals and bearings.
I have spent a lot of time sitting in the garage staring at the bike with a clymers and shop manual in One hand and beer in the other. Ordering reg/rect. From Oregon....
And trying to wrap my head around wiring schematics (not my forte).
