The clamp you have on there I bet is a source of a vacuum leak.
Do you have the original clamps?
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Now that you have turned it over with the choke and got no result it is time to check other things.
Make sure to let the starter rest a few minutes between start up attempts.
If the engine has gas and spark and the timing is correct it will immediately start.
Next thing I would do is clamp on a timing light to each spark plug wire, (one at a time) and see if the timing light is flashing. NO NEED tO remove spark plugs.
But if you choked it and the spark plugs are not wet with gas then the idle jets may be clogged.
If you try a squirt of starter fluid into the intake and it tries to start ,then it is another indication of no gas to the right places and the idle jets may be clogged.

ok i got to the route if todays issue. the battery was just that dead. i did get it to fire and start right up like it has before. how ever i am thinking i do not have the carbs installed the right way, due to the fact that now both exhaust pipes are poping on the decleleration. just at the bottom of it thou. i will try and post another video this week now i figured out the issuse, so i can resume with was the real problem.
i will however do the timing to, i just have to wait a couple weeks to by the light. did remove the new ove sized clamp,
thank you every one

cdaiscool,
thank you for the thought, how ever i would love to come and meet people either when i get this run running correctly or when i get something newer with a little less work needed.
Funny thang is, is it ran great untill i took the carbs off to put the air box on. I know it is just a alingment issue. I am finding out how sensitive it is.....i love learning hands on.
Every one here has been great, so i want to wish you all a early merry christmass, or whatever you may celebrate.
i know my posts may sound discourging, this is not the intent. the only knowelege i have is hands on, and as you can tell it is not very much.
cheers

Oh no, its not discouraging as long as we're getting what we need to help, and you're at least MOVING. Even if its in the wrong direction, there's no such thing as negative direction - so you're always moving positively.
If it ran great until you put the airbox on, I wonder if its just not tuned worth a shit. If you don't know how to tune, just take it to a pro. $50 and 30 minutes - 1 hour, they'll get it purring for you. And/or tell you why it only sorta purrs.
Personally, I tried tuning mine, then gave up and took it in. They made some adjustments with a nifty tool and made it run a whole lot better.

I choose to take another stab at it. I really want to be able to say I have done most of the work. Every one here is giving me a awesome education, and I am very greatfull.
In this new video i say voltage regulator, where i should have said voltage metor. Unfortunetly I am haveing trouble keeping the batteries charged on the camera so i am charging them and hope to put up a good full video maybe by x-mass.
I was going to continue working on the bike but since that batteries died, I figured i got enough done at this point untill, i here every ones feed back.

I have mine professionally tuned. Its worth the charge to know its done right, and just go riding.
No shame there!

I am going to try and synch the carbs. I am now back to the original problem, idles fine untill i am ready to ride. Then it is like idle on steroids. I do have one more air leak, which i beleave I am going to gaset seal and call it a day on.
It is going to the proshop when I get as much as i can do myself done. The local man here has a three month waiting pierod, because he is that good and that in demand. I may fall short of my own hopes and have him do the whole tranny, with out me even opening it.
We have come a long way on this bike.W got the air box on. We got it to idle perfectly. We got it to start on the first or second hit of the button. Now if we can just nail the idle while under a load. then the tranny. Then men i beleave we will have our selfs a wonderful bike.
cdiscool, thank you for all your help and replys

Dude Yo Killing Me,
You have tryed sprying boots with carb stuff/ w.d-40,most anything can tell ya if you have a boot leak ,I have one my #4 into head metal ring is cracked get poping letting off gas quick, think when wind is blowing hard twards that side causes probs too I just move my leg and can fill the diff.
Taking to a PRO / Shop your still going to need those boots,IF they are leaking,There going to charge you for shop space while they are on order and $ to put on ,THEN they will check out IF there is still a prob..
Going to Sync. my carb & change oil tomarrow myself(well Paul's always looking),filter & oil this time .

I just wanted to update every one. Sunday 12-30, or monday the 31st. Weather permitting, I am going to take the three leaking boots off put gasket seal on them and put them back on. I may do all four. This is a tempary as it may take me 8 to ten weeks to save the hundred and five dallors plus shipping to get them here.
The condition of them is fair to good, they are not leaking in a sence of kracked or have wholes in them but instead. I must have pulled them loose, because the leaks are in front where they meet the motor.
I have gotten the clamps in that i mentioned in the video. they are now on. Good learning cuvre here. The starting issue was do to the carbs not being pushed in all the way into the boots. When they did seal the right way I heard kinda of a whoosh sound. I about jumped with joy.
Now I can start the bike with the first or second hit of the button.
I have ordered the orginal clamps for the air box and they should be in mid week.
Question time. can any one tell me where I can find the vacum port connectors?, Like where to buy them. I use nappa and o reillys but neither know what i am talking about. I am going to build manometer and try it. I am not saying it will not go to the shop. but i need the experiance and i still have to jb weld the two exhaust leaks.
New video will be posted soon and I thank you all for you help. hope fully after this is done i can start working on the tank. bondo...that will be a new expierance and thread

Don't know where you are getting the boots from for $105 + shipping. I just paid $68 and expect them after the holidays. This should be a link to them on VintageCb750.com make sure your '81 750F is in the top left drop-down box.
http://www.vintagecb750.com/products/6/fuel-system/54/carb-holdersAs far as the vacuum port connectors go, if you mean the pieces that screw into the carb to hook your sync guage hoses to, you are right, can't get those at the typical hardware store.
Z-1 sell them sepperate though in both 5mm and 6mm... here are the 5's.
